Batten down the batches. Go stock up on powdered milk, TP, and granola bars. And make sure the windows and doors are boarded up, because Irene is a-coming.

The hurricane that recently ravaged the Bahamas and Caribbean regions is now en-route to pillage and plunder the entirety of the United States’ East Coast. With hurricane alert watches posted in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New York, New Jersey, and New England, Irene looks primed to do some seriously substantial damage.

At 8 a.m. this morning, the National Weather Service released a statement claiming that the storm is, “moving a little bit faster than we thought.” If it continues on it’s current path, Irene will strike Wilmington, NC by around 5 p.m. today. Which means it will be reaching the 410 by early to mid Saturday and taking a bite out of The Big Apple late Saturday into Sunday.

When all is said and done, Hurricane Irene could be detrimental to seven states and impact close to 55 million people. Make sure you stay safe this weekend, ladies and geneltman of the East Coast. Cheers.
