Nearly 4,500 American soldiers dead. Another 32,000+ wounded. Was it really worth it?
Today, President Barack Obama put an “end” to the seemingly endless struggle occurring in the now dilapidated Middle Eastern nation. Vigilante violence still reigns supreme. There is no true gubernatorial organization set up in Iraq. And they still have absolutely zero trust for America in it’s entirety.
Could someone please explain to me how this war is over?!? Granted, Iraq was a pretty massive hell hole when we went in there with W. looking for those “weapons of mass destruction”, but can you honestly tell me that they are better off now?
No form of structured, stable government/leadership. Completely dismantled, destroyed cities and towns, leaving only their citizens to rebuild. I’m not going to turn this into a massive rant, but we ran up in there on false pretenses and didn’t accomplish much other than losing American lives and further burying a nation in the desert sands. Sectarian violence is not over. Its not going to stop, and we will more than likely be back.
I would like to personally say THANK YOU to every single service man and woman is serving, has in the past, and will in the future. To those whose lives were lost in combat, your sacrifice will never be forgotten. If not for all of you, I would not be able to do what I am doing, nor would anyone else. We are internally grateful. I hope you get to enjoy the holiday season with your families!
